About Awarding Body: LONDON INSTITUTE OF BANKING AND FINANCE & BAFT The CDCS® program has been developed and is continually reviewed by BAFT and The London Institute of Banking & Finance and industry experts to ensure that the certification reflects industry standards and best practices. CDCS® is the international standard for documentary credit specialists, based on the ICC rules.
There are no entry requirements to undertake the CDCS examination. However, it is strongly recommended that candidates have minimum of three years of documentary credit experience.
The exam is a three-hour, paper-based exam
Section A – 60 multiple-choice questions
Section B – 10 multiple-choice questions
In-basket exercises each with 5 linked multiple-choice questions
and 3 simulation exercises
The overall qualification will be graded Pass / Distinction. You must achieve a mark of 70% overall (and 60% for Section B).
The qualification grade boundaries are as follows:

To ensure that CDCS® team members stay on top of the latest industry developments and trends, the CDCS® program requires recertification every three years. CDCS® professionals must participate in an ongoing program of continuing professional development. CDCS® professionals earn personal development units (PDUs) by attending conferences and workshops and completing online courses in specific areas of international trade finance and documentary credit practice.
Exams are held in April and October each year.
Note: Registration for the October 2019 exam is open, applications and payments must be done before 31 July 2019. The exams are to be held on 25 and 26 October 2019.
The Exam Registration Fee is GBP 580 which includes the cost of Printed study Text. The amount can be paid by Credit/Debit card or by Bank Transfer. Registration can be done at the cdcs.libf.ac.uk
