About Awarding Body:
Council of Architecture, India.
The Council of Architecture (COA) has been constituted by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972, enacted by the Parliament of India, which came into force on 1st September, 1972. The Act provides for registration of Architects, standards of education, recognized qualifications and standards of practice to be complied with by the practicing architects. The Council of Architecture is charged with the responsibility to regulate the education and practice of profession throughout India besides maintaining the register of architects. For this purpose, the Government of India has framed Rules and Council of Architecture has framed Regulations as provided for in the Architects Act, with the approval of Government of India.
Eligibility:
NATA 2020 is a qualifying aptitude test for admission into the B. Arch degree program, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria prescribed by the Council. The candidates who have passed 10+2 level examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate, shall be eligible to appear for NATA-2020.
The candidates appearing for 10+2 examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics in the current year may also provisionally appear for NATA-2020, subject to fulfilling the above criteria.
The candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL category or PwD (Persons with disability) shall be provided a relaxation of 5% marks in total aggregate in 10+2 level/10+3 Diploma as well as PCM.
QUALIFYING IN NATA-2020 DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RIGHT/ GUARANTEE IN FAVOUR OF THE CANDIDATE FOR HIS/HER ADMISSION TO ANY ARCHITECTURE COURSE UNLESS HE/SHE HAS FULFILLED ALL THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED BY RESPECTIVE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES.
Examination Pattern:
The exam pattern for NATA 2020 is given below:
- Mode of exam: Online
• Duration of test: 180 minutes
• Type of questions: Part A- MCQ and Part B- Drawing on A4 size drawing sheets.
• Total marks: 200
• Marking scheme: Each question of Part A will carry 2 marks and each question of Part B will carry 40 marks. There will be no negative marking.

Exam Centre’s for NATA:
NATA 2020 has Exam Centre in Dubai and in many locations in India.
- The candidates applying for exam centre in Dubai will not be given any choice for test centres.
- Dubai cannot be chosen as second or third choice of exam city.
Candidates choosing exam center in Dubai as per their first choice shall be liable to pay an additional fee of INR 8000/- per candidate during the application process.
